Assistance with ITIN Application Process
The Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN) is a crucial component in tax reporting and preparation purposes. Resident or non-resident aliens, as well as their dependents and spouses, who are not eligible for social security numbers or employer IDs, are the primary candidates for individual tax identification numbers.
For purposes of tax reporting, individuals in these circumstances submit applications for ITINs. This is a nine-digit tax processing number issued by the IRS to those required to have a US taxpayer identification number.
Streamlining the Individual Tax Identification Number Application
True Tax Solutions is an IRS Certified Acceptance Agent that provides the services you need to complete your entire ITIN process whether it is your first time or you need to renew your ITIN.
Step One: Send us your documents to be certified
The IRS allows Certified Accepting Agents authority to certify passports and birth certificates only. They must be original or a certified copy from the consulate. ITIN applicants must normally mail them to the IRS and receive them back in 8 to 12 weeks. True Tax Solutions will mail you back your certified documents as soon as the Application is complete. We estimate 7 to 10 business days.
Step Two: As soon as your documents are authenticated, you will be contacted to schedule an online video interview to verify the identity of the ITIN applicant. This can be done either by web camera or smartphone.
Step Three: The Certified Acceptance Agent will complete the Certificate of Accuracy and Application for ITIN (Form W7).
Step Four: We mail your forms and documents back to you. You will need to sign the Application before it is mailed to the IRS.
NOTE: Only ITIN Renewal can be mailed in without a tax return. You must include a tax return with your initial ITIN request unless you have a special exception.
If your application is complete and you qualify for your ITIN, you’ll receive a letter from the IRIS with your number. You will then be able to e-file future and previous year returns using your newly issued ITIN.
